One-off Sale from the Hinchliffe Indigenous Collection
(Sale is in two stages)
David Hinchliffe is selling these paintings in order to re-focus his collection of Australian indigenous paintings.
All proceeds from these sales (after any royalties that are due are paid), will be used to acquire additional paintings sourced directly from indigenous community art centres. All paintings bought from these centres will be offered on free loan to public venues.
These prices are below prices in auctions and well below gallery prices. This is because there are no auction house premiums (which are usually 25% on top of the hammer price) and no gallery commissions (which are usually 50% of the sale price).
